Duration
The duration of the course is 20 hours.
Purpose
This course is designed to teach the student how to install, configure,
and use the
Apache package, to provide Web services for intranet and/or Internet
networks.
Audience
The typical student will be a Linux system administrator who needs to
provide Web services for an Intranet and/or Internet. Other candidates
will be management professionals requiring knowledge on how Web servers
function.
Prerequisites
Familiarity with UNIX commands and Web browsers is required. Knowledge
of HTML and databases would be helpful, but is not required.
Objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Discuss web service concepts
- Install the Apache software
- Work with all Apache configuration files
- Configure Apache virtual hosting
- Configure Apache access control
- Configure Dynamic Content and know the languages that can be
used in this respect
- Connect Apache to databases
- Use the various Apache security modules
- Discuss and configure the Secure Sockets Layer
- Discuss Planning, Performance and the future of Apache.
